Global Design Project

Good Morning, it's been a long week and I'm so glad the weekend is nearly here. I'm busy at the minute making cards and gifts for the girls various coaches, teachers and leaders. But I did still find time to take part in this week's Global Design Project where the theme was Adventure.

I struggled with what stamp set to choose for my card before my eyes settled on the Shooting Star stamp set which was sitting in my pile of new stamps that I hadn't yet managed to have a play with.

I used my Aquapainter to add some colour from the lid of my inkpad to some watercolour paper, then stamped the star and moon images with Crushed Curry Ink and cut them out with the matching dies.

I embossed some Night Of Navy Card with the Lucky Stars embossing folder and cut some Whisper White card with my favourite Stitched Shape Framelits.

After I assembled my card, I added a Wink of Stella glitter to my shooting star, moon and all the backround stars so the whole card shimmers and glitters in the light.

If you would like to purchase any of the items I've used for my card today, you can find them in my Online Shop. Here are the item numbers to get you started:

Star of Light

Good Morning, gosh it's a bit nippy this morning isn't it? Today I'm sharing the project from our team meeting at the weekend.
It looks like a normal card from the outside but there's a little surprise inside.....
The card has a box of tea lights incorporated which makes it a card and gift all in one! The design is based on a design I saw on Pinterest by a lady called Marianne (can't find a second name)although I have resized and changed her dimensions for my card.

I decorated the card with the stunning Star of Light stamps and co-ordinating dies. To decorate the tea lights, I stamped one of the images from the set onto some white tissue paper and punched it out. I then used my heat tool to melt it into the surface of the tealight.
I can see me recreating this project again and again with various stamps and dies, it would be lovely done with florals for a birthday or Mother's day.

You can purchase any of the items I've used today in my Online Shop. I've included a list of items I've used below:
  • 106577 Night of Navy Card

A Cracking Christmas

Good Morning, I'm heading out to a craft class this morning where I'm not the tutor for once and I'm looking forward to just sitting back and spend time crafting with nothing to organise.
Before I go, I want to share my swaps from our Team Meeting at the weekend.
I used my Envelope Punch Board to make these mini crackers using the papers from the This Christmas paper stack. You only need a 6"x6" piece of paper to make each one which means you can make 4 from each sheet of patterned paper. I hope to have a tutorial ready later in the week.

The greeting on the crackers comes from the Tin of Tags stamp set which I have found myself using so many times this year, it's a great all rounder. It's also on sale until the end of November for £14.25 instead of the usual £19.

And of course I've used my Stitched Shape Framelits which make an appearance on nearly every project at the minute, they are so versatile and will hopefully be available again soon when new stocks arrive.

You can purchase any of the items I've used today in my Online shop, here's a list of what I've used to get you started.
  • 142180 Tin of Tags Stamp set
  • 141628 This Christmas Designer Series Paper
  • 133774 Envelope Punch Board
  • 145372 Stitched Shape Framelits

Ho Ho Ho!

This is one of the cards we will be making at my Whitehouse Card Class this morning. It's a simple card but I love how elegant black and gold look together.
I used the Detailed Santa Thinlet die to cut out some Gold Foil Card and then glued it to a piece of Whisper White card and stamped the sentiment from the co-ordinating Greetings From Santa stamp set in Basic Black Ink. The finishing touch was a few gold stars punched with the Confetti Stars Border Punch.

  • 121688 Basic Black Cardstock
  • 106549 Whisper White Cardstock

Candy Cane Lane Scrapbooking

Today I want to share one of the layouts we made at last weekends Scrapbooking class with the gorgeous Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.
The gingerbread men from the Cookie Cutter Christmas set were a perfect match for the papers and they look extra smart with their red glimmer bow ties.
The Large Number Framelits were used to cut the number 25 from Red Glimmer cardstock, which we added to our second layout.
We took the frame that remained and glued a piece of Whisper White cardstock behind it and added some Mini Jingle Bells to the bottom to make a cute embellishment.
If you would like to purchase any of the items I've used in my layout today, you can find them in my Online shop.

Mojo Monday #474

After all the craziness of Onstage, I've managed to get caught up and even found time to play along with this week's Mojo Monday challenge.
As soon as I saw this week's sketch, I knew that the New Stitched Framelits dies would be perfect. These dies have been hugely popular since their release at the start of November, so much so that what was supposed to last until the end of the year, barely lasted 2 weeks and are now on backorder. You can still place an order until the 21st but after that they won't be available until new stocks arrive.

I have used my Cookie Cutter Christmas on lots of projects recently but had neglected the little Eskimo stamp, which makes me sad as he is such a sweet fellow, so I thought I'd use him for this challenge.
I coloured my Eskimo with a Blender pen and Crumb Cake, Soft Sky and Mint Macaron Inks and embossed the backround with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
The banners were cut from the Subtles paper stack and Presents and Pinecones papers. Did you spot the snowflake embellishment? It comes from one of last years sets, Flurry of Wishes which is still available and can be found in the Annual catalogue along with some other great seasonal sets.

There are some great offers on this month on stampsets which co-ordinate with the Stitched Framelit Dies, with 25% off selected stamps.
Don't forget to use the Hostess Code for November when ordering which is QE7GMGWZ and receive a thank you gift from me.

Only use this code for orders between £25 and £150.
Orders over £150 will qualify for their own Stampin' Rewards.

Busy Little Bee

One of my team members celebrated their birthday last week and this was the card I sent her to celebrate.
This was my first chance to play with one of the new stampsets I received at Onstage called Dragonfly Dreams.

I stamped the little bees with black ink and coloured them with my So Saffron marker before fussy cutting them out.
The floral paper is from the Subtles paper stack and I used one of the dies from the Rose Garden Thinlets to cut out a rose.
I used another of the stamps from the set stamped in So Saffron ink to achieve the Bokeh effect on the white card.
And of course I had to stamp the inside of the card and envelope to match!

You can find all the products I used to make this card
 in my Online shop.

News from Onstage

At Onstage we love gifts, both giving and receiving. We love to spoil each other and Stampin' Up always spoil us.
These are the gifts I made for my team members, to celebrate being at Onstage together. They had a little pocket compact, some product and a chocolate bar inside.
The copper foil leaf on the outside matches the copper writing on the compact.
I was blessed to receive gifts from my team, my roommate and Stampin' Up, including a gorgeous new bag which has to be my favourite thing EVER and how cute is that notebook with the hot air balloon on the cover?
We were given so much free product at the event that I had trouble fitting everything into my suitcase for the flight home!
I can't wait to have a play with these new stamps which will be available in the Spring/Summer catalogue launching in January.
These were the make'n'takes that we made at Onstage with some of the new products.
I love the new colouring Designer Series Paper which is the papercrafters version of the adult colouring books which are so popular at the minute and I think Real Red, Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron might be my new favourite colour combo!

If you have shopped with me in the last 6 months, you will receive the new catalogues in the post during December or you can message me to request a copy.

Onstage Swaps

I spent last weekend at Stampin' Up's Onstage event in Telford. Onstage is a demonstrator event where we get to meet up with our fellow demonstrators, have some business training, see lots of inspirational ideas, do some crafting and most importantly - see the new Spring/Summer and Saleabration catalogues for the first time!

One of my favourite things about SU events like Onstage, is swapping with other demonstrators, it's a great way to get lots of new ideas and inspiration!

My swap for this year was based on a card from Michelle Last using the baby wipe technique. This technique is one of my favourites as it's so easy to do and the results are slightly different each time.
I used the Wonderous Wreath Stamp set and my re-inkers to achieve this autumnal look.
Simply place a baby wipe onto a non porous surface (I use a large clear stamp block) as the ink will leak through.
Add the re-inker a drop at a time to create your own ink pad. I started out with 5 drops of each colour and added additional reinker until there was no white space remaining. I placed my ink in a circular shape to match the stamp I would be using which is why there is no ink in the centre of my wipe.
The re-inker colours I used were Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. The moisture of the baby wipe allows the colours to blend and mingle which is perfect to capture the array of colours found in Autumn leaves.
Simply stamp as you would with a normal ink pad. When you have finished, you can save your custom ink pad for future use by sealing in a polybag.
To complete my swap I used my Gold Wink Of Stella pen to add a sparkle to the leaves and finished with a simple greeting.
I made 50 swaps altogether and below you can see the swaps I received in return.
First the card fronts and other flat swaps

I'll be back to share more news from Telford later this week.

Birds of a Feather

I've had a busy week getting ready for my team meeting today. We normally get together one night a month but once a quarter, we spend a full day together, crafting and having fun.

Our main project this month was this little bird frame, featuring the Best Birds stamp set and matching dies. The girls get a goody bag, packed with Stampin' Up products to use on the day and this month's bag included the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper, which has beautiful pink and teal papers, so the girls had a choice of colours for their frame.

We stamped and embossed the backround paper for added interest and stamped the bird and branch several times onto watercolour paper before layering them together with dimentionals to create a 3D image. The little coloured beads at the bottom are actually from the bag of silica that came with the frame to absorb moisture, which we coloured with a few drops of reinker and glued to the base.

I hope you enjoyed this project, I'm off to watch Northern Ireland take on Wales in the football.

Don't forget to use the Hostess Code for June when ordering which is CPRDHP9U  and receive a thank you gift from me.
Only use this code for orders between £25 and £150, orders over £150 will qualify for their own Stampin' Rewards.
