Global Design Project #004

Good morning, the card I am sharing with you today is my entry into this week's Global Design Project #004. The challenge was to CASE (copy and share everything)  this beautiful card designed by Louise Sharp.
I wanted to create the idea of a hanging Christmas ornament and I did this by cutting out a circular frame from Gold Foil sheets which I layered over Very Vanilla card which had been stamped with the stamp from To You and Yours in Basic Black ink to give a silhouette effect.

To create the backround, I glued a piece of Winter Wonderland Gold Vellum onto Very Vanilla card and stamped the ornament hanger with Basic Black before adding a gold cord bow. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, which has been designed to co ordinate with the To You and Yours Shaker Card Kit but can be used by itself as I have done with this card.

Here is a list of the supplies I used to create this card. Just click on the picture to be taken to my online shop.

Mojo Monday 417

Today's card is for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I've used the Into the Woods Designer Series paper which is perfect for Autumn cards and projects, I've been using it on loads of projects the last few weeks.

Today I have paired it with some Rich Razzleberry cardstock and some acorns punched with the Acorn Builder punch. I added a wooden sentiment from the Expressions Natural Elements pack to finish. These wooden sentiments are great for cards and scrapbook pages as they can be used as they are or coloured with inks, markers or embossing powders to match your project.

Here is a list of the supplies I used for this project.

Vintage Leaves Wall Hanging

Today I want to share the second project from our Quarterly Team meeting yesterday and my favourite from the day although the photos don't do this justice at all. I had a couple of embroidery hoops in my craft room for a while but hadn't settled on what to do with them but at a craft fair a few weeks ago, I picked up a couple of metres of Hessian fabric and the idea for this project began to take shape.

I started by stretching the hessian between the two hoops and then looped some gold cord before glueing to the hessian. I stamped some Vintage Leaves onto Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon and Pumpkin Pie cardstock with Early Expresso Ink.  I used Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder for the Early Expresso leaves.

The acorns are punched from Kraft card and topped with Gold Glimmer card, I seem to be adding gold touches to everything I make at the moment - must be the season. I also gold embossed the quote from Lighthearted Leaves set onto Very Vanilla card and cut out with the window die from the Square Pillow Box set.

The final touch was a loop of Burlap Ribbon tied off with some more gold cord. I just need to find somewhere in my craft room to hang it now.

Here are the supplies I used for this project, if you would like to purchase anything I've used just click on the photo to be taken to my online shop.

Thankful For Autumn

Today was the Quarterly meeting of my Stampin' Up team, the Shamrock Stampers and I want to share a little of what we got up to. I love getting together with my team for these meetings, it's great just crafting, chatting and enjoying each others company, with a helping of chocolate thrown in for good measure.
Today's meeting had an Autumnal theme and I made these decorated cocktail jars as my swaps for the girls.

I wrapped the jars with Burlap Ribbon and stamped some leaves from the Vintage Leaves set on Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon cardstock with early Expresso ink and used Versamark and Gold Embossing powder on Early Expresso cardstock.

The flower is made with Gold Glimmer paper punched with the Festive Flower punch, I just used two of the double leaves overlapped onto each other and added a flower from the Itty Bitty accents trio and a pearl to finish.

Our first project of the day was this Double Pillow Box. I wanted to show the girls how the Festive Flower punch could be used aside from at Christmas.

The flower was punched from Daffodil Delight Cardstock and stamped using the matching stamp set Reason for the Season and Crushed Curry ink.

To make the Pillow Box, we cut the die four times from Kraft cardstock and embossed with the Woodgrain folder before joining together and adding a belly band with paper from Into the Woods pack.

Check back tomorrow to see the rest of the projects we made.

A Winter Wonderland for Mojo Monday

Good Morning, it's a gorgeous sunny morning here in Belfast although I've definitely noticed it's much chillier in the mornings when I'm doing the school run, I think summer is well and truly behind us.
I've really enjoyed taking part in online challenges recently, and today's card was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

I've used the Winter Wonderland product suite, papers, vellum, a co-ordinating stamp set and embellishments in a black and gold colour scheme which is elegant and sophisticated.

I started off by adding a piece of patterned paper from the Winter Wonderland set onto gold card as my back round.
I stamped some trees from the Wonderland set onto a circle of white card using Stampin' Up's NEW Basic Black Ink. This Archival black ink is brilliant, giving a clean crisp image every time.
To stay true to the sketch I used a Metallic Gold Doily which I cut in half with my trimmer and adhered to either side of the main image.
The greeting is also from the Wonderland set which I stamped onto Vellum. The problem with vellum is that sometimes the adhesive can be seen through it so I got around this by adding a couple of Home For Christmas Enamel dots where I had glued.
The final touch was some Dazzling Details on the trees to add sparkle and a little bow made with Gold Cording Trim.

Birthday Blossoms Global Design Project Challenge

Today's card is made using a sketch from the Global Design Project Challenge. Sketches are a great idea if you want to create a card in a hurry, simply adjust as necessary to suit your needs.
I used the Birthday Blossoms stamp for my card and flipped the sketch to make a landscape card.

For the base of my card, I stamped Rich Razzleberry card with the Dots for Days backround stamp and Rich Razzleberry ink.
I stamped the large flower and leaves onto Very Vanilla cardstock then gently traced the image with an Aqua painter which gives a soft watercolour effect before adding to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Here is a list of the products I used to create this card
