When I was creating the cards for this weeks card class I started out with a colour scheme and a stamp set in mind but try as I might, I just couldn't create the card that was in my head. Instead the design gradually evolved into this baby girl card.

Well once I had a girl card I had to make a boy card to go with it didn't I?

The images on both cards come from the Baby We've Grown stampset and the colours used are Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Whisper White

Quarterly Team Meeting

Sunday was our Team Meetup and it was great to spend the day with my team, chatting, crafting and drooling over the products from the new Spring/Summer catalogue. When Stampin Up demos get together we always do some swapping.  Each person makes enough cards of one design for everyone attending and they do likewise and then we swap so we have several different card designs, it's a great way to see new ideas and techniques, and get samples of stamp sets I might not have.

For my swap on Sunday, I made these little sweetie boxes using the NEW Tag Topper punch before decorating them with Rich Razzleberry paper and matching ribbon. I think the gold scallop circle is the perfect addition to the purple.

I also made these gifts for my team

There was a pen that I'd brought back from Convention, a mini notebook and a charm for their scissors. I made each set in a different colour and coloured the charms to match. I also wrapped them up in a pretty, co-ordinating gift bag but I forgot to take a photo before they arrived.

We had some business training before lunch which included some cupcakes made by my eldest daughter.

After lunch we got down to some serious crafting. Our first project was a gift box using the new Sale-a-bration papers topped off with some paper roses made from the Spiral Flower die

for the tag, we used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and Happy Congratulations Stampset.

next up we made a couple of cards made with some Sale-a-bration products

before finishing off with the final card which is much nicer in real life, the photo just doesn't capture how gorgeous the gold embossed vellum really is. It was definitely the favourite project of the day.

If you would like to join us at our next get together, please get in touch.

Well it certainly seems that way in my craft room at the moment as I have spent most of this week working on several Valentine's Day projects and todays post certainly fits in with that theme.

I wanted to feature the Banner Blast Stamp Set (133551) and matching punch (133519) and decided to create a wreath to hang in my craft room.

I stamped several of the banner images in Real Red and Pink Pirouette and punched them out before attaching them to some Whisper White Bakers twine, I added a few hearts punched out using the small heart punch between each banner.

To create the large rosette, I cut two strips of Pink Pirouette 1 1/2" x 11 1/2" and scored them at half inch intervals using my Simply Scored board and joined them together. The rosettes can then be glue onto a punched circle using a hot glue gun to keep them in place. I punched out a circle of patterned paper from the Brights paper stack and a heart image from the Hearts a Flutter stamped in Pink Pirouette and cut out using the matching framelits.

The smaller rosette was created in the same way as the first this time using Real Red cardstock, the kiss/hug sentiment was cut out using one of the framelits from the Circle Card Framelit set. My finishing touch was to add a few pearls to the rosette and the banners.

I hope you enjoyed my project today, the next stop is Joanne's blog, to get there just follow the link below

Sale-a-Bration Countdown begins...

Sale-a-Bration begins next Tuesday 28th January and is Stampin Up’s annual promotion with lots of FREE gifts from you to choose from. You can choose a FREE item for every £45 you spend with no limit, so a £90 spend would earn you 2 items and so on. There are lots of great products to choose from with something for everyone including stamps, punches, embossing folders, kits and home decor projects.
Todays card features several of these products including the stunning Sweet Sorbet papers which come in Spring shades of coral and aqua. There is also a co-ordinating accessory pack which includes 3 reels of twine and a sheet of decorative adhesive backed cork shapes.

The sentiment is also from a Sale-a-Bration set called See Ya Later which I absolutely adore so look out for more cards featuring this set.

Getting organised for 2014

Did you make any resolutions for the new year?

I usually make a list of things I would like to improve in my life, although to be honest it's usually the same things on the list year after year.  One of my resolutions is always to be more organised and seeing as I've already had several party and workshop bookings for 2014, I bought myself a diary to help me keep track. I opted to a simple black cover so that I could jazz it up a bit myself.

I covered the front of the diary with the script paper from the Modern Medley pack and distressed the edges with Basic Grey ink. I used the beautiful Swallowtail Butterfly stamp as my main image and the numbers for the year come from the Memorable Moments set. I've also used the Gorgeous Grunge set that I got from Convention, I can't get enough of this set after waiting so long for it, and find myself using it on nearly everything I make at the moment.
I hope you have better luck with your resolutions than I seem to have with mine.

Until next time
Clare
