Stampin Up European Convention-Day 4

After a few days of early starts we decided that on Sunday, our last day in Brussels, we would enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the hotel. We were amazed by the spread that awaited us, starting with a huge basket of pastries

there was a hot buffet, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, macaroons and so much more but no breakfast is complete without a glass of bubbly

A toast to a great Convention 2014, can't wait for next year!

All too soon it was time to say goodbye and head to the airport to catch my flight home, except I had a slight problem when it came time to check in -  all the freebies from Stampin  Up, swaps and not to mention chocolate meant my suitcase was over the baggage allowance for the flight! I had to quickly open my case and move some things into my hand luggage, better book extra baggage for next year!

I would love to have you join me in Brussels next year for Convention, so if you would like to join Stampin Up please let me know.

Stampin Up European Convention - Day 3

It was still dark in Brussels as we made our way to the Convention Centre. It was a bit of a struggle getting up early as we'd been up so late the night before, but I enjoyed how quiet and peaceful Brussels is at that time.

We had another busy day with workshops and demonstrations including some cute holiday projects and make and takes

There were more Prize Patrols and we were all lucky enough to receive a Project Life by Stampin Up Card Collection

The last session of the day was taken by Shelli, who shared some gift wrapping ideas with us.

After the closing ceremony we all headed off across Brussels for dinner at a restaurant that had been recommended to us, although we did have to stop and consult the map once or twice!

After dinner we set out to do what women do best- shop!
Everywhere there were amazing window displays and tempting treats

In this shop there were numerous varieties of chocolate available- all sold by the slab

This sweet shop had lollipops in every colour of the rainbow, I just had to buy some to take home for my girls

These meringues were bigger than my hand, there were crowds of people outside the shop taking pictures

The Grand Place is the main square in Brusssels and was full of people, even quite late in the evening. It looked absolutely stunning lit up.

And of course no visit to Brussels would be complete without a visit to the famous Manneken Pis,
a bronze statue of a boy peeing into a fountain.

I'll be back tomorrow with details of our last day in Brussels

Stampin Up European Convention - Day 2 part 2

After our busy day, we stopped off for dinner on the way back to the hotel which was washed down by a lovely glass of Kir.

Then it was off to the hotel to get our glad rags on and head back to the convention centre for the Awards ceremony. As our high heels were totally unsuitable for the cobblestones of Brussels we decided to call a taxi, the driver of which proceeded to take us on a hair raising drive around Brussels - dodging in and out of traffic and talking on his phone the whole way! We glad to arrive at the centre in one piece!

After the Award ceremony we just had time for a quick group photo before moving downstairs where we were treated to an amazing after show party.

There were tables laden with mouth watering desserts of all shapes and sizes, a chef preparing freshly made crepes with all manner of toppings and table after table of delicious Belgian chocolates.

We spent the night dancing to music from the live band who played until late

Before heading off to the Hard Rock Cafe for a few drinks

Quarterly Team Training

Last weekend I got together with several other demonstrators for our Quarterly meeting. The girls were excited to hear all the gossip from Convention and have a look at all my swaps.
We always start off with a cuppa while we catch up and exchange swaps and I shared some special treats that I'd brought back from Brussels for the girls, yummy Stroopwafels and some Belgian chocolates.

For our first project we made some Christmas stars from the Simply Pressed Clay.

It was like being a child again, playing with rolling pins and cookie cutters, and soon there were stars and glitter everywhere!

After a break for lunch we moved on to making a cute box of tags, perfect for Christmas. There are 12 tags in the box, with four different designs.

Our last project was a little gift bag containing everything you need to make a yummy drink of hot chocolate, these would make lovely gifts for friends and neighbours.

I love our monthly meetings, it's great spending time with such a fun, inspiring group of girls and I always look forward to our next get together.

If you would like to join Stampin Up and come along to our next meeting, just send me a message and I can send you the details.

Stampin Up European Convention - Day 2 part 1

Day two started bright and early, we grabbed a quick breakfast from the local Metro station on the way to the Convention centre. We arrived to find hundreds of demos chatting and swapping and we quickly joined in. This is one of my favourite parts of Convention - chatting with other demos and seeing their beautiful creations.

The morning session soon got under way with inspiring workshops and classes.  It was great to have Stampin Up co-founder Shelli Gardner at Convention this year as she wasn't able to make it last year after a horse riding accident. It had been Shelli's birthday just before Convention and there were a few tears shed when she was called onto the stage to receive bags full of cards made by the demos in attendance.

After lunch it was time to explore the Demonstrator Resource Area where we could try out some new Stampin Up products including the Gift Box Punch board, Blendabilities, Project Life and the Wonderous Wreath stamp and Die bundle

Nicole and I also completed the service project, putting together birthday packages for sick children who would be spending their birthday in hospital. Over 300 packages in total were completed during Convention.

We just had time for a quick team photo before heading back into the hall for our afternoon session. It's great to part of such a large and talented team.

This cute baby gift set featuring the Work of Art stamp set was one of the projects on display in the demonstrator area.

I loved this winter scene from the Display Design Contest

One of my team mates, Lisa Cornwell created this beautiful Christmas table setting using products from the winter catalogue.

Stampin Up European Convention - Day One

As many of you know I spent a few days in Brussels the other week at Stampin Up's European Convention. I left Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning to travel to Dublin to catch my flight to Brussels. I had arranged to arrive in Brussels earlier than was necessary so I would have the chance to see a bit of the city while I was there.

I arrived in Brussels at lunchtime and checked into the hotel which was situated in a very posh area with lots of designer shops around. Our room was on the top floor and had a cute little arched window which looked out over the city.

As I had travelled through the night, I had a quick nap while I waited for my room mate, Nicole to arrive. Once she arrived, we set off to explore the city.  Everywhere we looked there were beautiful building and gorgeous window displays.

Before long we had worked up an appetite so we called into a local cafe where we had the most AMAZING waffles ever!

Soon it was time to head to the convention centre to check in and get our convention bags which included our free stamp sets and a souvenir pen and pin

Back in the hotel, Nicole and I stayed up late chatting and finishing off her swaps so it was quite late when we finally went to sleep.
Call back tomorrow to find out what we got up to on our second day of Convention.
