Final post of the year

Today is the last day of the year and what a year it's been for me. I joined Stampin Up back in February and have been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride ever since. I started teaching my craft classes which have been popular with everyone who attends them. I was lucky enough to travel to England several times this year to meet up with my extended team of fellow demos, including several from the Netherlands. I also welcomed three new members onto my own growing team and have learnt so much and have been inspired every step of the way.

I wanted to make a card to celebrate the New Year and the first thing that came to mind was fireworks, so I used the Wetlands set and the gold Encore ink from the winter catalogue but I overstamped the top part of the rushes with the little star which is part of an upcoming Sale-a bration set called Banner Blast and a sneak peek item from the new spring Summer catalogue-which is the lush gold sequin trim which I was lucky enough to get for free at convention. I cut the individual sequins free from the trim before attaching them randomly over the card.

I want to wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year and I hope 2014 holds good things for all of us.

Until next time
Clare

Advent Countdown Day Five

Today's Project was a make and take at our last team get together. We made six mini cards, two of each design which are the perfect size for Stampin Up's Mini Whisper White Envelopes

The papers are from the Season of Style paper stack and we stamped the ornament from the Christmas Collectables set in Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler before using the matching punch which comes with the stamp set if you buy it as part of a bundle, saving you time and effort as there is no fiddly cutting out to be done. We used some Linen Thread and Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine to finish add a little bow detail as the finishing touch.

Advent Countdown Day Four

Today's Advent project is a gift box perfect for your Christmas gifts and at only £3.75 for three boxes, you can afford to splash out on one for everyone on your list!

I've covered the box with the Seasons of Style paper and created a co-ordinating bow on top with the Gift Bow Die for the Big Shot, finished off with a faceted button and some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine. The matching gift tag was the same ones that I sold out of at last weeks craft fair, they are quick and easy to put together but proved popular with my customers.

Advent Countdown Day Three

Sorry this post is a full 24 hours late but I had a sick little one yesterday who was sent home from school and needed a trip to the doctor who then sent her on to the Childrens A&E where we had a four hour wait to be seen, so it was after 10pm by the time we got home and I settled my little one to bed and called it a night myself.
Today's card features the hostess set Warmth and Wonder. The backround was inked with Soft Sky and Marina Mist using sponge daubers before using the Stamp- a- majig to stamp the tree and deer in Early Expresso . I then masked off the upper section and stamped over the bottom half with Versamark before adding Heat and Stick powder and dazzling Diamonds.

I added a little paper piercing around the image as a final finishing touch although you can't see it very clearly in this photo.

Advent countdown Day Two

Today's card features the Santa's List stamp which is one of my top five favourite stamps, I just the the vintage feel it gives to any project.

I stamped the Postcard Stamp with Crumb Cake on Whisper White and Santa was stamped with Cherry Cobbler then matted onto Crumb Cake before being added to the Cherry Cobbler card base, although it looks a lot darker in this photo. The postage stamp is from Postage Due and was stamped in Early Expresso as was the sentiment.

Advent Countdown Day One

Hello and welcome to the start of my Advent Countdown. Each day between now and Christmas I hope to share a Christmas card or project with you. To start us off is a card we made at our weekly class last week using the O Holy Night stamp, the colours are Midnight Muse and Smokey Slate.

I also used some of Stampin Up's fabulous Glimmer paper which adds the essential bit of sparkle to a card. Hope you like todays card and remember to check back each day for new projects and ideas.

Until next time
